Case Studies
Case studies provide our patients with a clear picture of what’s possible with dental treatment at SmileMore Dental Care. Sharing our observations and end results through these case studies allows us to show you the detail we put into our work.
Invisalign Case Studies
Dental Braces Case Number One
Clearly, this patient’s teeth are very crooked. It’s quite obvious that if they were straightened out they would look much better. However, the issue we wish to draw your attention to is the patient’s left lateral. This is the tooth next to the front tooth on the patient’s left-hand side (the right of the photograph as you look at it).
Notice the tooth seems darker since it’s set back farther than the rest of the teeth. This perceived discolouration is a common complaint from people with crooked teeth. However, it’s merely an optical illusion caused by shadowing. If you look at the same tooth in the after photo, it looks much brighter and whiter. This is simply because of the reduced shadow since the tooth now falls neatly into the arch line.
The tips of the two front teeth are also worth noting. Notice in the before photo that the tips of the teeth are rather rounded. The patient did not like this. In the after photograph, you can see that these have been straightened, giving a more even smile. This type of additional modification after having dental braces is a simple process.
We can make minor adjustments to the tooth by gently removing tiny amounts of it. If the tooth is chipped, there are options to repair it. We can add dental bonding material to the surface of the tooth, rebuild it with an instant veneer or lighten it with teeth whitening.
Once again, you can see this patient would benefit from orthodontic treatment. Worth noticing is the appearance of the back teeth at the left and right of the photograph. As you can see, this area falls into a dark shadow.
Now compare this to the after photograph. The shadowed area has disappeared and the smile now looks much fuller. This particular area of the mouth is the buccal corridor. Many cosmetic dentists use a technique that widens the buccal corridor to reduce this shadowing effect. This broadens the arch line of the teeth and makes a smile look much fuller.
A few years ago, the only way to do this on adults was by fixing porcelain veneers to the outside of the teeth. With modern orthodontic adult braces, it’s possible to widen this part of the mouth and bring the teeth out naturally.
Dental Braces Case Number Two
Dental Braces Case Number Three
These photos demonstrate the overall look of the patient’s face once the teeth are straightened with dental braces. Some patients with crooked teeth may have difficulty smiling prior to orthodontic treatment. Over the years, they have trained themselves to be embarrassed about their smile.
Following treatment, the smile becomes much more genuine and fuller, and her eyes sparkle.
After dental braces, many people find it so much easier to smile, and this is reflected across their whole face, including the eyes.
SmileMore Dental Care provides orthodontic braces using Invisalign or Six Month Smiles. We offer a free consultation to any patient interested in orthodontics, so call us today at 020 7586 1210 or book an appointment online.
Veneers Case Studies
At SmileMore Dental Care, we take great pride in revitalising the smiles of our patients. For over 20 years, we’ve consulted with patients who may have discoloured, broken or chipped teeth.
Here is one of the many examples of how our dental veneer treatments can help you.
Our patient wasn’t happy with the rotation and shape of his teeth. During our consultation, we discussed potential treatments, such as orthodontics. We suggested that dental veneers could be the ideal solution without the need to wear a brace system.
This is how he looked before and after treatment with dental veneers. As you can see, his teeth are now even in both colour and shape.
