Welcome to SmileMore Dental Care
When you come to SmileMore, we want you to feel like you’re visiting friends. Our practice is a caring and compassionate surgery established in 1994. We’re an independently-owned dental practice offering dental care to both adults and young patients on a private only basis.
The SmileMore team is full of heart and technical skills to give you results to smile about. We have an accomplished team of dental professionals available for preventative dental care, general dentistry and smile makeovers. Patient comfort and satisfaction drive our detail-oriented staff, ensuring each dental treatment is customised to each patient and offers outstanding results.
New Patients
Welcome to the SmileMore community! We’re always happy to see new patients. Many of our new patients are referred to us by our existing ones; if you have been referred by one of our patients please let us know, so we can thank them.
Consultations and Examinations
Let’s talk through all your dental treatment options before we make a plan. Many of our treatments require a consultation, giving our patients a chance to speak with our dental practitioners before committing to treatment. Use this opportunity to ask questions, voice any concerns, and gain a better understanding of your proposed treatment. We’re happy to chat for as long as you need to feel confident in your decision.
Once we have a plan we need to check out your overall oral health before we start treatment. We need your teeth and gums in perfect health. Our initial assessment includes a full oral health check (including an oral cancer screen) before we greenlight a smile makeover.
If we find any problem areas, it’s not the end of the world. We simply need to take care of any basic dental treatments before doing any cosmetic work. After all, a healthy foundation makes it possible for us to complete your smile makeover treatment safely and properly.
Smile makeovers can be minimal, or a complete overhaul of your teeth. Our priority is understanding what you want and which treatments you prefer, and giving you workable solutions. We’re here for you, and want your treatment experience with us to be delightful from start to finish.
Your recommended smile design treatment can involve any number of procedures, for example, teeth whitening, composite bonding, orthodontics (including clear dental braces) and porcelain veneers or crowns.
Usually, tooth whitening is the starting point of a smile makeover. If teeth need to be realigned and repositioned then orthodontics (braces) may be used while whitening happens at the same time. At SmileMore, we can offer you Invisalign, Six Months Smiles braces, and CFast.
Sometimes after whitening or orthodontics, some teeth might still appear worn or misshapen. In these situations, we can use composite bonding to improve the final shape and appearance of your teeth. Porcelain veneers or crowns can also be used with all the treatments above. Porcelain is an ideal way to achieve a uniform smile design in shape, colour and position.
If you have concerns about your smile, we want to hear them. It’s our job to help you smile. We would be happy to examine your teeth and recommend treatments that can help you get the smile you want.
Smile Makeovers at Our Practice
We Solve Dental Problems
Most of us suffer from oral health problems at some time or another. It isn’t always easy to know whether you should see a dentist for certain issues. Here’s a list of some of the more common problems we see at our dental clinic.
Bad Breath and Halitosis
Bad breath is a frequent problem and has a number of causes.
Sore and/or Bleeding Gums
Bleeding or sore gums can be a sign of gum disease, so it’s important to visit us if you have either of these symptoms.
Toothache or Painful Teeth
There are a number of different types of dental pain, as well as a number of causes.
Dental Phobia, Anxiety and Fear
Do you feel anxious or nervous about visiting the dentist? We can make it a better experience for you.
Jaw Pain or Headaches
Headaches, neck, shoulder, back pain and a bunch of other facial and jaw problems can often be traced back to the jaw joint.
Tooth Grinding
Tooth grinding, especially at night, is very common, affecting up to 50% of people.
Dry Mouth
Dry mouth, or xerostomia, is becoming more common.
Broken Tooth
If you break a tooth, call us right away for advice.
Tooth Accidentally Knocked Out
If your tooth gets knocked out, seek emergency dental help immediately.
Chewing Difficulties
Chewing can be troublesome if you’re missing teeth, or if your tooth restorations are not quite right.
If this list does not include your particular problem, or if you’re not sure what to do, make an appointment to see us at our London dental practice – we’re always happy to help you.
Technology at SmileMore Dental Care
Technology isn’t just cool, it’s incredibly helpful for both our patients and our dental team. We make it a priority to stay on top of the latest dental techniques and use technology that helps us get the best results for our patients.
No Impression Procedure
Innovative technology has done away with old-style impression techniques. Going digital produces more accurate and comfortable imprints of the teeth. Digital images help us learn which treatments will work best in your mouth.
Digital scanning is an easy, simple and non-invasive process, so there is no discomfort for you. We use a wand-like scanning instrument that takes thousands of small pictures without any direct contact with any part of your mouth.
The information from the scanner feeds back to the computer which puts the information together and produces a 3-D image of your teeth. This scanned image has many uses. It can create a study model or can be used to build a bespoke restoration.
On the screen, we can create an image of your new teeth on top of the 3-D image of your existing teeth. The two images are superimposed on top of each other, forming a guide as to how much change is needed to get from the starting point to the end point. Other images such as facial images can also be super-imposed to design new smiles.
Advantages of no impression techniques include:
- More precise detail of the teeth. This helps make accurately fitting restorations, such as crowns and bridges.
- More comfort as it doesn't involve any impression material to be placed in the mouth.
- A simple and non-invasive procedure for patients.
- A quick process that can produce almost instant results for easy assessment of the teeth.
- Better diagnosis and treatment from a 3-D computer image.
