At SmileMore Dental Care, we take great pride in restoring the natural aesthetics of your teeth. We believe self-esteem stems from a smile and the appearance of your teeth plays a big part in achieving this confidence.
Dental bridges are one of our innovative dental implant treatments for replacing missing teeth. Our dental bridge treatment enables us to restore your teeth and smile to their original form or enhance your existing smile.
How Our Dental Bridge Treatment Works
A bridge is a false tooth that is held in place by the teeth next to it. In many cases, they are ceramic.
Most often, the two neighbouring teeth on each side of the gap need crowns fixed onto them. We join the two crowns together by placing the false tooth between them and cementing them in place. This is known as a fixed bridge. Creating a fixed bridge is usually a good option if the teeth on both sides are strong enough to support the bridge.
Sometimes, in lieu of a fixed bridge, adhesive bridges are constructed. These bridges have less impact on the neighbouring teeth because they use the latest bonding techniques to hold the false tooth in place.
When adults lose a tooth, they require a replacement tooth to keep the remaining natural teeth aligned. Missing teeth can also affect how they eat and alter how clearly they speak. Both dental bridges and dental implants have natural-looking results, but they are placed in the mouth in different ways.
A dental bridge uses replacement teeth held in place by the surrounding teeth. In some instances, bridges are supported by implants.
Dental implants are artificial teeth that have artificial tooth roots surgically mounted into the jawbone. The implants have screws that hold a crown or bridge in place.
During your consultation, we will talk about whether dental bridges or a dental implant is better suited to your situation.
