Tooth Grinding (Bruxing)

Often related to stress or anxiety

Grinding or clenching your teeth during the day is the result of some of the strongest muscles in your body tensing up (6 to 20 more times than non-sufferers!) which can cause morning and tension headaches, and damage surrounding joints and other muscles.

Often there is also excessive wear of teeth which can cause sensitivity and possible breakage.

An important preventive measure is to wear a protective nightguard.

In one visit we can make a custom made device, the NTI.

This is worn overnight and makes clenching or grinding virtually impossible. In a few days or weeks, your clenching reflex is suppressed leading to resolution of symptoms and protecting your teeth.
